I am working on an interesting book that I will post more about come August (when I hand it over to its owner), but until then, here is a little blog about little books.
A few months ago, I was asked to fence for the honor of a former East Kingdom Queen at an event called The Tournament of the Roses. I decided that while I might not be the greatest fencer, I could at least comport myself well by giving a little token to every fencer I fought against. I have several little bits and bobs kicking about that I have used as tokens in the past but decided that something better needs to be given. So I made little books.
These books were made with Beckett Antique Vellum (60lb. text weight, long grain, 8.5 x 11 inches), unwaxed linen thread conditioned with bees' wax, PVA glue, and scraps of veg tanned leather I had kicking about. I used a codex stitch to bind the four signatures together.
